NEWS AND EVENTS
Update 4/22/08:
Well, on April 8, Jo Jo Lin had to have her right eye removed. We discovered that she had an eye problem called interior luxating lens ( the lens moves in front of the iris ). She was in lots of pain. Also on that day, she had a full dental in which she lost 7 teeth. As we mentioned before, Jo had breast cancer; but since the removal of the one mammary side and if all the cancer was removed at that time, we have every reason to believe Jo will be with us longer than we thought earlier. Jo had many puppies in her lifetime, and her body was not prized by whoever owned her, just her puppies were prized. Now, finally, Jo is in excellent physical shape and is enjoying her new life.
Jo certainly looks forward to mealtimes.
Jo loves to play outside with her brothers, Howie and Guinness. However, she lets them know when their rough-housing gets on her nerves.
Jo is probably between 8-10 years old. The shelter thought she was younger, though. Like a true lady, Jo Jo is keeping her real age to herself.
Jo Jo is searching for someone to love her. She wants to be by your side or on your lap. She is potty-trained. She rarely barks. She likes other dogs, but might prefer to be an only child so she receives all the attention! We do not know about cats. This is a truly special dog, who will give you kisses and make you grateful every minute she is yours.
Orginial Post:
I was supposed to be euthanized on February 9, at the Elyria, OH dog pound. A Lil Paws rescue person was coming to get me, but was not sure she could make it from Cincinnati, OH in time. Thank Goodness, another LPR person from Toledo hurriedly came to get me out of that horrific place.
I am Jo Jo Lin, a female Lhasa/Tzu mix. I am about 6-7 years old; weigh 19 pounds; and am silverand charcoal with caramel-colored chest, goatee, and feet. I have been told that I am gorgeous! I am very gentle and so sweet and trusting.
Upon arriving in Cincy, my foster mom and dad worked for two hours cutting the baseball-sized hair-mats that were pulling and stretching my skin. Each mat oozed stale urine because I was left in my cage and it was not cleaned out. The hair that coveredm and infected my eyes was removed and I got a wonderful long, warm bath, too. Finally, after I don't know how long, I was clean and DRY.
Two days later, I was professionally groomed and went to the vet. I do have breast cancer, but a chest Xray revealed the cancer is NOT in my lungs. All my blood-work came back normal, too. Therefore, next week, I will have a masectomy, get spayed, and have a couple teeth removed. Also, I have dry eyes and will need medicine in my eyes twice a day for the rest of my life. But, that is no big deal! After I am feeling
better, I will be searching for someone to treasure me...furever. Is that you? For my part: I promise to love you and be the best pet ever!!!!!
Love and kisses,
Jo Jo Lin
